Supreme Court ruling on Obamacare

A message from presidential candidate Mitt Romney

Today, the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare. But regardless of what the Court said about the constitutionality of the law, Obamacare is bad medicine, it is bad policy, and when I’m President, the bad news of Obamacare will be over.

It was always a liberal pipedream that a 2,700 page, multi-trillion-dollar Federal Government takeover of our health care system actually could address the very serious problems we face with health care. With Obamacare fully installed, government will reach fully half of the economy — that is the recipe for a struggling economy and declining prosperity.

On Day One, I will work to repeal Obamacare to stop the government’s takeover of our health care and intrusion in our lives. I will push for real reform to our health care system that focuses on helping patients and protecting taxpayers.

We cannot afford Barack Obama’s on-the-job learning, Big Government proposals, and irresponsible spending. Our basic liberties are at stake — and I will fight to restore our freedoms, renew the respect for our Constitution, and halt the government takeover of health care.

This November it’s all on the line. The stakes couldn’t be higher.

Lou Buren of TWAU BLOG: Mitt is right, this November it is all on the line. With Obamacare being deemed a tax and allowed to continue I believe America will show it's fury and overwhelmingly vote Obama and all liberals from office. For those of you who refuse to vote for Mitt because he's a mormon, I say to you right now it doesn't matter. We must take action and remove this socialist from office.

Or you can look forward to more big government power grabs by Obama. He and all the other liberal democrats must be voted out! The supreme court ruled incorrectly yesterday. America has a chance to rule correctly in November.

America's number 1 sell out

Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts forges an unexpected alliance with the liberal justices in ruling that the constitutionality of Obama's health care law rests in the government's taxing authority.

Clear cut case: Roberts is a sell out! He sided with the liberal pieces of crap. Probably paid off.

BREAKING NEWS: House votes to hold Attorney General Holder in contempt of Congress

Click the title headline for the full article

The GOP-led House voted Thursday to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for failing to provide key information pertaining to Operation Fast and Furious, making Holder the first sitting Cabinet member to be held in contempt.

The vote was 255 to 67. Seventeen Democrats joined the majority of Republicans in voting yes. GOP Rep. Dan Lipinski voted not present, and 65 Democrats left the floor before the vote.

The vote follows a roughly 16-month investigation by the chamber’s House Oversight and Government Reform Committee into the failed gun-running sting known as Fast and Furious -- run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, a division of the Justice Department led by Holder.

Supreme Court upholds individual mandate, ObamaCare survives

The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld nearly all of President Obama's health care overhaul, in a landmark ruling that will have sweeping consequences for the economy, the election and America's health care system.

In a 5-4 decision, the court ruled as constitutional the so-called individual mandate requiring most Americans to obtain health insurance starting in 2014.

The ruling is a victory for the president, ensuring for now that his signature domestic policy achievement remains mostly intact. It also ensures that the law will play a prominent role in the general election campaign, as Republican candidate Mitt Romney vows to repeal the law if elected.

Obama is expected to speak publicly about the ruling later in the day.

Chief Justice John Roberts, who was appointed during a Republican administration, joined the four left-leaning justices on the bench in crafting the majority decision.

"The Affordable Health Care Act survives largely unscathed," Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, one of those justices, declared at the end of the reading, claiming the "setbacks" going forward will be "temporary blips, not permanent obstructions."

Lou Buren of TWAU BLOG: Who would have guessed that Obama would have the highest court in the land in his back pocket? I'll be honest it shocked me. I expected the total opposite. This is a very sad and dark day for America. It seems that's all we get these days ever since Obama arrived on the scene. I guess our only hope now is electing Romney who vows to repeal this social slavery known as ObamaCare. The court clearly failed in this ruling. The individual mandate is not a tax. It's a penalty if you fail to purchase Obama's healthcare.

I'm very disappointed with this bogus ruling. And we here at TWAU BLOG vow to keep doing whatever we can to fight and ultimately stop ObamaCare.

Medical examiner rules out bath salts in Miami face-chewing attack

Click the title headline for article

MIAMI – Lab tests detected only marijuana in the system of a Florida man shot while chewing another man's face, the medical examiner said Wednesday, ruling out other street drugs including the components typically found in the stimulants known as bath salts.

There has been much speculation about what drugs, if any, would lead to the bizarre behavior that authorities said Rudy Eugene exhibited before and during the gruesome attack that left the other man horribly disfigured. A Miami police union official had suggested that Eugene, who was shot and killed by an officer, was probably under the influence of bath salts.

The Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner said in a news release that the toxicology detected marijuana, but it didn't find any other street drugs, alcohol or prescription drugs. Eugene also tested negative for adulterants commonly mixed with street drugs.

The department ruled out the most common components found in bath salts, which mimic the effects of cocaine or methamphetamine and have been associated with bizarre crimes in recent months. An outside forensic toxicology lab, which took a second look at the results, also confirmed the absence of bath salts, synthetic marijuana and LSD.

Messages left with the medical examiner's office for comment were not immediately returned.

Country braces for ObamaCare ruling

Supreme Court is hours from delivering its decision on President Obama's Affordable Care Act, with major ramifications for the presidential race, the health care system, the economy and the bounds of government power.

Join us in prayer that God will make it his will to guide the justices into making the right decision. To strike down the individual mandate and all of ObamaCare for that matter.

We will post an update as soon as word comes in.

WOULD CONGRESS SEND SERGEANT-AT-ARMS FOR HOLDER?

CLICK ON THE TITLE HEADLINE FOR THE FULL ARTICLE

Several questions about how the White House will respond should the U.S. House, as many expect, hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress weren’t answered at today’s White House news briefing.

Press Secretary Jay Carney allowed CBS and Fox News to ask seven questions each, NBC to ask five and CNN and Bloomberg to ask four each, but he did not recognize Les Kinsolving, WND’s correspondent at the White House.

Kinsolving had wanted to ask about an assertion by Cornell law professor Josh Cafetz that “if the House holds Holder in contempt, it can send its sergeant-at-arms to arrest him, and hold him until his contempt is purged.”

Kinsolving also wanted to ask whether Obama would enlist the FBI or the armed forces “to protect the attorney general.” In addition, he wanted to know whether Obama would expect Congress to impeach Holder or cut funding for the Department of Justice should the standoff continue.

The White House and the House of Representatives have been in a conflict over documents pertaining to the DOJ’s involvement in the Fast and Furious gunrunning scandal in which the federal government sold guns to carriers who took them to Mexican drug cartels. A Border Patrol agent, Brian Terry, was murdered, and one of the weapons was found at the crime scene.

Congress wants to investigate the path of authorization for the program and determine who had oversight. Holder has refused to provide tens of thousands of documents sought by Congress.

At the 11th hour as the fight heated up, Holder obtained from Obama a decision to invoke executive privilege and withhold the documents.

Chafetz’ recent commentary in the Washington Post raised all sorts of issues about Holder. He addressed what ultimately could develop in such a stand-off.

The associate professor of law at Cornell said after the House Oversight Committee voted to hold Holder in contempt of Congress that it would be relatively pointless for Congress to go to the courts — presided over by judges who report to Holder — to seek a contempt action.

Lou Buren of TWAU BLOG: We all know Holder is a piece of crap. A criminal by all means. And though I believe congress would send in the sergeant of arms to arrest him, I doubt that would be necessary. I think Obama would throw him under the bus and surrender him to congress.

Unless Holder has crucial information AKA dirt on Obama. Then Obama would fight tooth and nail for him.

Let's hope for the best, to see Holder and Obama thrown behind bars. They are both criminal scum bags.

Voters Split Over ObamaCare's Fate

As the country awaits the U.S. Supreme Court decision on health care, more American voters continue to oppose the law than favor it. In addition, voters are divided over what Congress should do if the high court rules parts or all of the 2010 law as unconstitutional.

A Fox News poll released Wednesday finds nearly half of voters oppose the law passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama in 2010. Thirty-nine percent favor the law. Thirty-nine percent -- the exact same number -- also favored it at the time it was passed two years ago (April 2010).

Obama is getting desperate

As I have predicted in earlier postings I believe Obama will lose the election by a landslide this year. His actions as of late show he is getting very desperate. Pandering to all the small whacko groups out there. All the promises to the minority groups.

Recently he came out and declared he supported and advocated the perverse sin of homosexuality and same sex marriages. And then made an executive order granting young illegal immigrants 2 year work permits. All of these things Obama is doing are going to be for nothing. And President Romney will cancel all of it.

So once again I'm going on record saying Obama will indeed lose the 2012 election by a huge margin. Watch for Obama to pander to the sinful and to illegal's more in the upcoming months. Like I said, he is desperate at this point. Giving away the house is all he's got now.

It won't help him though. Most of America knows that he has spent us into oblivion by spending money we don't have, placing our children and their children in debt they may never recover from. He has advocated sin and perverse items via legislation. It's not hard to see that Obama must go. If we are to salvage and put America back on track, he must go!

Munnsville woman allegedly high on 'bath salts' dies after attacking child

MUNNSVILLE -- A Madison County woman alleged to be high on drugs is dead after assaulting her child and receiving a Taser shock while she struggled with police.

According to State Police, around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday Troopers were called to an apartment on North Main Street in the Village of Munnsville for a report of a woman assaulting her three-year-old child. While police were responding to scene, they say Madison County 911 dispatchers received several follow-up reports that the woman was punching and choking the child and had started to attack a neighbor.

When police arrived, they say they found 35-year-old Pamela McCarthy apparently under the influence of “bath salts”, an illegal synthetic drug. Police say Trooper Christopher Budlong attempted to arrest McCarthy, who was “violently combative” and may have been "growling," according to police and resisted attempts to handcuff her. Budlong used his police-issued pepper spray on McCarthy to no effect, so he then deployed his Taser and was able to handcuff McCarthy with the help of rescue personnel.

Police then say that after McCarthy was taken into custody she went into apparent cardiac arrest. She was taken by ambulance to Oneida Healthcare, where she later died.

At a press conference Wednesday afternoon, State Police said the use of the Taser was justified. Troopers said the woman has a history of using bath salts.

An autopsy was unable to pinpoint the exact cause of death, according to police. It could take several weks before toxicology results are back.

Wednesday morning, eyewitnesses David and Zachary Bridge told CNY Central's Jim Kenyon that they saw McCarthy come out of the rear exit of her apartment with the boy in her arms, and tumble down the stairs holding onto the child. They say she began assaulting the child and was yelling incoherently. Witnesses say at one point she was sitting on the pavement spinning and laughing as she was hurting the child. They said the boy's father intervened and took the child away from McCarthy, at which point she chased a neighbor, Heather Ames, into her apartment and attacked her.

Ames told Kenyon that she fought off the attack, and McCarthy went back out into the parking lot, stripped off all of her clothes, and threatened people passing by.

Witnesses say McCarthy then went back into her apartment and tumbled down the stairs again, this time with her pet pit bull in her arms, and then injured the dog as well. State Police and rescue units showed up at which point McCarthy became combative and resisted arrest. Ames says the Trooper (Budlong) repeatedly told McCarthy to let go of the dog, and pepper-sprayed her to no avail.

At several points, witnesses say McCarthy was warned by Troopers that she would be tased if she did not let go of the dog. After McCarthy was tased and handcuffed, a neighbor informed the Trooper that McCarthy had undergone an operation to place stents in her heart just two days prior to the incident.

All three eyewitnesses Kenyon spoke with said that Trooper Budlong was justified in the way he handled the situation.

Police say the child was taken by ambulance to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. He was treated for minor injuries and released to family members.

State Police held a news conference Wednesday afternoon in Oneida.

Deputies say Onondaga Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy, but they were unable to determine the cause and manner of death. Troop D commander Major Rodney Campbell says they are waiting for toxicology test results.

Maj. Campbell confirmed that she was high on bath salts and was not coherent at the time of her death.

The case will be presented to a grand jury, which is standard procedure when a person dies in police custody.

Court rejects appeal to overturn Proposition 8 ruling—case could head to Supreme Court

A federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday that it will not review a three-judge panel's decision to overturn California's Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage.

Following this ruling by the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, Proposition 8 proponents plan to appeal the case to the U.S. Supreme Court, putting the battle for same-sex marriage on a national stage. The Supreme Court could decide to hear the case as part of its docket next year.

The ruling comes after a federal appeals court in Boston ruled Thursday that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), that says states don't have to recognize gay marriages in other states and defines marriage as between a man and a woman for federal purposes, violates the Constitution and should be struck down. The Supreme Court could also decide to hear this case next year.

Lou Buren of TWAU BLOG: The will of the people should have never been overturned by one activist judge. Or by any amount of judges. That was a clear cut case of judicial tyranny. When the people vote on something, the will of the people should always prevail. In this case, the people spoke and said they want the will of God upheld. They don't like the perverse sin of homosexuality. And they didn't want it creeping into the realm of marriage.

I hope it does go to the supreme court, because I believe the supreme court will uphold the vote of the people. There are many blog posts on homosexuality in our archives. Feel free to search them.

Homosexuality and gay marriage isn't about equality. And homosexuality isn't an identity. It's an activity and nothing more. Men are men and women are women. Some of them are just mixed up in their minds. We pray they get back on track and that God will show them the error of their ways.

Giles County School Board Modifies Roots of Democracy Display

June 1 2012

Late yesterday afternoon, the Giles County School Board voted unanimously to accept a modification to the Narrows High School’s Foundations of American Law and Government display, put forth by the private creator of the original display. The new document replaces the Ten Commandments with a page from a Prentice-Hall textbook on American history, which is used in Virginia public schools. The page depicts the “Roots of Democracy” and begins with the Ten Commandments stone tablets. The books states, “The values found in the Bible including the Ten Commandments and the teachings of Jesus inspired American ideas about government and morality.” From this origin the page from the secular textbook traces the roots of democracy through the Magna Carta to the Enlightenment and up to the present time.

A display on the foundations of American law and government would be incomplete and inaccurate without the Ten Commandments. Any student of history knows this basic truth.

CHUCK NORRIS ENTERS 2012 POLITICAL RING

Legendary action star Chuck Norris says he’s entering the political ring in Tuesday’s recall election for the governorship of Wisconsin, to offset the influence of Democrat powerhouses looking to oust Republican Gov. Scott Walker.

Norris himself is not seeking office, but he’s throwing his name and weight behind Walker.

“When I saw [Democrats] also send in the big guns, former President Bill Clinton himself, against Gov. Walker, I knew I had to enter the ring, too,” Norris says in a brand-new column on WND.

“There’s one primary reason that Clinton came out to Wisconsin to engage in the battle to recall Gov. Walker,” he explained.

“Democrats, liberals and progressives like him know that as Wisconsin goes on Tuesday, so possibly goes the nation in November. They fear that a win for Gov. Walker will contribute to conservative momentum that will ultimately lead to President Obama’s defeat in his campaign for re-election. And they’re right.

Our values are under assault

Today the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) is unconstitutional. Of course it doesn’t help your case when the Obama administration has decided not to defend the law they are sworn to uphold. Remember DOMA was signed into law by Bill Clinton in 1996!

And on top of the DOMA ruling, President Obama’s administration last night announced that the President opposes House legislation to ban abortions due to the sex of the baby.

These are just the two latest attacks on our values from this administration. Let’s be clear, Barack Obama is so far to the left on issues, he makes Jimmy Carter look like a conservative.

We must vote Obama and all of the Democrat left-wing agenda pushers out of office and elect real conservatives this November. If you agree with Huck PAC’s mission, I urge you to endorse our efforts by making an immediate donation of $5 or more today.

With a few hours left until our financial deadline, we are counting on your support.

Chagas: Is tropical disease really the new AIDS?

You can CLICK HERE to watch the video

Chagas, a tropical disease spread by insects, is causing some fresh concern following an editorial—published earlier this week in a medical journal—that called it "the new AIDS of the Americas."

More than 8 million people have been infected by Chagas, most of them in Latin and Central America. But more than 300,000 live in the United States.

The editorial, published by the Public Library of Science's Neglected Tropical Diseases, said the spread of the disease is reminiscent of the early years of HIV.

"There are a number of striking similarities between people living with Chagas disease and people living with HIV/AIDS," the authors wrote, "particularly for those with HIV/AIDS who contracted the disease in the first two decades of the HIV/AIDS epidemic."

Lou Buren of TWAU BLOG: The Bible tells us that in the end days there will be incurable diseases.
